About The Committee

Production and execution were made possible by The Bahamas in Venice Committee (BVC), a sub-committee of the Friends of the Arts in The Bahamas (FAB) Foundation, established to expand opportunities for Bahamian artists and institutions, along with other key supporters. The BVC comprises cultural leaders dedicated to advancing the nation’s artistic legacy: Stan Burnside, Artist and Former Chairman of The National Art Gallery of The Bahamas (NAGB); John Cox, Chairman, NAGB / VP of Art and Culture, Baha Mar Resorts; Amanda Coulson, Former Executive Director, NAGB (2011–2021); Maelynn Ford, Executive Director, NAGB; Ryan Knowles, Maison Bahamas; and Vaughn Roberts, President, Friends of the Arts in The Bahamas (FAB) Foundation / Deputy Chairman, NAGB.  The support team includes Jodi Minnis-Rolle, Curatorial Director, NAGB; Romel Shearer, Assistant to the Producer; Drew Weech, Graphic Designer; Andrew Huston (Venice support).

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to John Beadles’ wife, Shelly, and his daughter, Jonnique, for their unwavering support.

Building on the powerful legacy of John Beadle and guided by the vision and intellect of Dr. Krista Thompson, The Bahamas’ Pavilion will challenge expectations, spark dialogue, and showcase material mastery at its finest,” stated The Bahamas in Venice Committee. “Our goal is to create a Biennale blueprint for future Bahamian artists — ensuring The Bahamas maintains a strong and enduring presence on this global stage for years to come.

Together, Beadle’s and Munroe’s transformation of everyday and discarded materials into visionary works, celebrates the enduring power of Bahamian creativity within the global art world. The 61st International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia will run from May 9th to November 22, 2026.
